Podcasting w/X Server

I run a couple of OS X servers, one of which is used primarily for QTSS and Broadcast. One of the things we do is post a 1/2 hour long news feed as an mp3 file. I'm looking for a good way of turning that into a podcast.

Do people create their own podcasts, and what do you use to write the RSS feed? should i be looking at iPodderX or something similar?
